Sing together, experience Christmas together
At the 8th Heilbronn Sing-Along, Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio will be an experience of communal concert fun. In the Kilianskirche Heilbronn, Cantatas I, III, and IV will be performed – supported by the Collegium Musicum Kilianskirche, tenor Luis Denzel, and the musical direction of KMD Stefan Skobowsky.
Festive sound spectacle in the Kilianskirche
Baroque choral music, radiant Christmas sounds, and the special acoustics of the church create an impressive live atmosphere. Bach's intricate orchestration, the festive choral movements, and the expressive lines of the solo parts unfold their effect right in the audience.
Singing along is explicitly encouraged
The special thing about this evening: Everyone is invited to participate. Choirs, chorales, and many arias encourage singing along – every voice counts, regardless of musical experience. Those who just want to listen will still experience a festive concert evening full of audience spirit and musical tension.
Prepared together for the concert evening
Before the concert, a communication rehearsal will take place from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM. The actual singing concert starts at 8:00 PM and lasts until 9:30 PM. Singers should bring their piano score; sheet music rental and purchase are available while supplies last. Experienced instrumentalists can request orchestral scores.
Musical direction and participants
Under the direction of KMD Stefan Skobowsky, the Collegium Musicum Kilianskirche performs together with tenor Luis Denzel. The combination of professional stage performance, communal choral singing, and historically influenced church music makes this sing-along a special highlight of the Heilbronn Advent season.
Conclusion: A Christmas Oratorio that unites everyone
This concert is more than a performance: It is a shared musical ritual full of sound, warmth, and festive anticipation. Those who want to not only hear Bach's Christmas Oratorio but actively experience it will find the perfect place for it on December 22nd in the Kilianskirche.
