Festive trumpet brilliance for the new year in Brackenheim
When trumpets shine, baroque drums thunder, and the organ fills the church space with majestic sound colors, the new year begins in Brackenheim with a special concert experience. On Sunday, January 10, 2027, the Evangelical City Church St. Jakobus invites you to the festive New Year's concert Sound, you drums! Resound, trumpets!.
Brilliant Bach Trumpet Gala
The trumpet ensemble Stuttgart, together with Thorsten Hülsemann, organist of the Maulbronn Monastery Church, creates a program between radiant festive music, meditative works for corno da caccia and virtuosic organ music. The program features works by Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Rippas, John Rutter, and Jeremiah Clarke.
Christian Nägele, Johannes Knoblauch, and Joachim Jung perform on trumpet and corno da caccia. Uwe Arlt handles baroque drums and percussion, while Thorsten Hülsemann provides orchestral fullness at the organ. The precise synchronization of the ensemble connects historical sound aesthetics with a powerful modern stage performance.
The church space becomes a resonating body
In the Evangelical City Church St. Jakobus, festive architecture meets exceptional acoustics. Every trumpet call gains brightness in the church space, while the organ lays a sonic foundation between devotion and virtuosity. After the concentrated silence of a first moment, a musical fireworks display unfolds from radiant natural tones, striking drum impulses, and colorful organ artistry.
Music tradition with renowned interpreters
The trumpet ensemble Stuttgart has been performing since the musicians studied at the music universities in Stuttgart, Würzburg, and Cologne. The ensemble regularly performs at concert series and festivals such as the European Church Music in Schwäbisch Gmünd, the Münster concerts in Ulm, the International Lake Constance Festival, and the Cathedral Concerts in Rottenburg. In 2022, it participated in the opening service of the 102nd German Catholic Day in Stuttgart.
Thorsten Hülsemann completed an A-exam in church music and has been the organist and cantor at the Maulbronn Monastery Church since 2018. His repertoire ranges from historical organ works of the Baroque to late Romanticism. In Brackenheim, his conducting and organ playing combine with the festive sound language of the trumpet ensemble for a concert evening with clear musical dramaturgy.
A musical kickoff that resonates
The concert begins at 5:00 PM, with entry starting at 4:15 PM. The free seating creates an open concert atmosphere in which the audience experiences the room’s sound directly. The proceeds benefit the new organ of the city church.
Those wishing to welcome the new year with festive classical music, baroque sound splendor, and impressive live atmosphere will experience a concert evening full of brilliance, depth, and musical energy at Sound, you drums! Resound, trumpets!. Secure your ticket in good time and let trumpets, drums, and organs work live on you.
