Swinging Christmas at the Mauritiuskirche Güglingen
On Sunday, December 6, 2026, the Jazz and Swing BIGBAND Esslingen will transform the Mauritiuskirche Güglingen into a festive concert hall. Starting at 5:00 PM, powerful big band sounds, jazzy solos, and Christmas singing will meet the special acoustics of the church space. Admission is free, a donation is requested.
Christmas Classics with a New Swing
Under the musical direction of saxophonist, arranger, and composer Stefan Koschitzki, the ensemble presents well-known Christmas songs in lively big band arrangements. White Christmas, Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will receive a new musical color through precise brass sections, buoyant rhythm, and warm voices.
Jazz, Swing, and Festive Sound
The Jazz and Swing BIGBAND from Esslingen, founded in 1991, stands for passionate sound in a classic big band setting. Their repertoire ranges from traditional swing classics to funk and Latin titles. In Güglingen, this stylistic range combines with the calm, festive atmosphere of the Mauritiuskirche.
Strong Voices and Great Sonority
Particularly in the spotlight are the vocalists Desirée Maurer and Nicola Bandt. Their expressive voices create emotional accents between the brass sections and add warmth and depth to the Christmas melodies. The conducting by Stefan Koschitzki unites the individual sound colors into a precise and lively stage performance.
An Advent Concert for the Whole Family
The mix of infectious swing rhythms, jazzy improvisations, and festive singing creates an immediate live atmosphere. When trumpets and trombones shine, the drums keep the beat, and the voices carry through the church space, it creates a concert experience to sway along and enjoy.
Conclusion: Swinging Christmas brings musical anticipation for Christmas to Güglingen on December 6, 2026. Visitors can look forward to an atmospheric evening with grand melodies, powerful orchestration, and special church acoustics. Admission is free, and donations support the concert. This Advent experience belongs live in the Mauritiuskirche.
