Islamism in Germany: An Evening for Differentiated Debates and Societal Dialogue
When religious identity, political influence, and social cohesion come together, knowledge, open questions, and respectful exchange are necessary. The lecture at the Heilbronn Adult Education Center invites participants to take a differentiated look at the structures of organized Islam in Germany and to discuss the future of an independent religious policy.
Structures, Networks, and Foreign Influence
Eren Güvercin, author and founder of the Alhambra Society e.V., sheds light on the role of large Islamic associations and their significance for the religious life of many Muslim women and men. The focus is on organizational structures, personnel entanglements, and possible political influences from foreign states, particularly Turkey and Iran.
Islamism, Integration, and Social Cohesion
The evening addresses central questions of religious policy: How significant is the influence of organized associations on the German-Muslim community? What challenges arise for integration and democratic coexistence? Islamism and Muslim anti-Semitism are also placed in the broader context of social responsibility.
Lecture and Joint Discussion
After the professional analysis, the evening opens up for discussion with the speaker and the audience. The event provides space for different perspectives, critical inquiries, and a factual dialogue about religious freedom, emancipation, belonging, and the role of religious communities in Germany.
An Evening of Political Education
The Heilbronn Adult Education Center sees itself as a place of democratic education and social exchange. In cooperation with the Reinhold-Maier Foundation, a framework is created in which religious policy topics are discussed in an informed, respectful manner without sweeping attributions.
Those who wish to better understand the debate on Islamism, organized religion, and integration in Germany will experience an enlightening evening with a lecture and discussion. Join in and bring your questions into the shared dialogue.
