Flamingo: A mafia comedy full of speed, deception, and strong emotions

When the 1950s Martini glitters in Las Vegas, horse bets electrify the air, and the Mafia pulls the strings, a risky double game begins in the Alte Theater Heilbronn. The Treibgut tour ensemble brings a fast-paced comedy of errors to the stage with Flamingo – freely based on Carlo Goldoni's motifs from The Servant of Two Masters with text by Caroline Scheringer.

A hungry servant between two masters

At the center of the production is Tonino, whose stomach is as empty as his wallet. As the servant of the mysterious Sofia, he gets entangled in a web of love, mafia, and false identities. Promptly, he takes on another job with Enzo – of all people, Sofia's lover. This sets off a ridiculous deception maneuver.

Telegrams, swapped suitcases, and jelly become props in a dramaturgy that derives its humor from ever-increasing pressure. Every excuse demands another, every small lie drives Tonino deeper into catastrophe. The acting thrives on precise timing, physical joy of playing, and quick shifts between charm, panic, and slapstick.

Commedia dell'Arte meets Las Vegas

Flamingo combines historical motifs with the dazzling milieu of American gambling. The production takes the basic constellation of Goldoni's comedic classic and transfers it to a world of casinos, mafia dealings, and romantic entanglements. Characteristic of Commedia dell'Arte, exaggerated characters, fast-paced dialogues, and situations arise, in which every order relentlessly wobbles.

It becomes particularly turbulent when Sofia, dressed as a man, takes her first steps in the male world of the mafia milieu. A marriage proposal, a reluctant fiancée, and a jealous rival shift the power dynamics anew with every scene. From the comedic play around identity and desire, a whirlwind on stage grows, which never loses sight of true love.

Theater atmosphere with a culinary start

The Alte Theater Heilbronn combines the performance with the concept culture meets culinary. From 6:30 PM, it is possible to reserve a table for dining. Thus, the theater evening does not start with the first appearance, but already gains a sociable, enjoyable atmosphere even before the curtain opens.

On stage, dazzling Las Vegas images, comedic movement, and pointed direction come together. The audience can expect an immediate stage experience with visible joy in playing, surprising twists, and an audience reaction that evolves from shared laughter.

Conclusion: An evening for all who love theater with heart and speed

Flamingo promises a lively theater journey into a mafia world full of masks, misunderstandings, and amorous entanglements.
