Between freedom and responsibility: Heilbronn youth on stage
A place to be, one look too many, and a thoughtless action that suddenly changes everything: You feel nothing. You feel everything. brings the realities of young people's lives directly to the Heilbronn theater. The world premiere, based on the report of the same name by Marcel Laskus, focuses on Ardit, Lukas, and Emre – teenagers who are searching for freedom in Heilbronn while grappling with expectations, friendship, and responsibility.
Heilbronn as a scenic stage
The city is not just a backdrop in this production. Its spaces, social tensions, and the lives of its youth become the material for stage artistry. When Ardit feels threatened in his future due to a consequential decision, the fragile fabric of his friendships also begins to falter. The dramaturgy combines documentary closeness with the intensification of drama.
Masculinity, pressure, and emotional overload
At the center are questions of modern masculinity and toxic role models. The piece tells of teenagers who seek their own perspective between emotional numbness and overstimulation. Freedom does not appear as a limitless state, but as a task: those who take responsibility must confront the consequences of their actions.
Precise direction and a visual stage concept
The production by Bastian Thurner transforms Laskus's journalistic observations into an immediate theatrical language. Christian Held designs the set, Gesa Gröning is responsible for the costumes, and Katharina Kraft develops the video concept. Together, they create a stage space where reality, memory, and projection intertwine. The acting artistry of the ensemble gives the characters contour, contradiction, and vulnerable energy.
An evening of theater for youth and adults
The production was created in collaboration with the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg and is aimed at everyone aged 12 and above. Among those on stage are Carl Benzschawel as Ardit, Cengiz Görür as Emre, Arne Kerst as Lukas, Irma Rerikh as Katya, and Tobias D. Weber as trust teacher Mr. Mayer.
Conclusion: Visitors can expect a contemporary stage experience about friendship, pressure of expectations, and the search for one's own place. You feel nothing. You feel everything. makes Heilbronn a resonance space for a generation and invites questions from the piece to be further considered live in the theater.
